SI Pipes - Activated Coconut Carbon

7 reviews

Activated Virgin Coconut Carbon is processed in a way that millions of microscopic air spaces are created; air spaces that help to capture the impurities and tars. The unique structure of activated carbon produces a very large surface, one ounce of activated carbon typically provides a surface area equal to a football field. Our Ultra glass filter holds approximately 1/3 ounce of Virgin Coconut Carbon, thus giving you the surface area of 1/3 of a football field between you and your raw smoke.

Coconut Carbon stays active until all microscopic spaces have been filled with impurities. Each container of Coconut Carbon holds approximately 3.5 ounces of carbon, which will refill an Ultra Glass Filter about 16 times. In our tests, we have found an Ultra Carbon Filter can filter over 100 inhalations.

Coconut Carbon Features:
  • For smoke filtration
  • 100% virgin coconut carbon
  • Approx 100 grams or 3.5 ounces
  • Larger carbon pieces for better airflow
  • No rinsing required
  • Ready to use
  • Safe for your health & the environment

Coconut carbon

This product is exactly what I was looking for. A really nice alternative to dry ash catchers. Keeps my glass clean and I haven't noticed a significant change in flavor. Hits smooth.

Best Form of Carbon

This was just what I was looking for for my bong carbon filter. Previously I had ordered (unthinkingly) powdered charcoal, and the particles were so small the stuff got everywhere. It went right through screens. Then I found this product. The "particles" of carbon have a kind of "flake" shape, as in corn flakes. They have a length, a width, and a height. When you use this type of carbon, the particles fall every which way and interlock, kind of like an unmortared(?) stone wall. The smoke has to find its way among the particles, exposing lots of surface area. But the most important thing is that you won't get a bunch of carbon particles falling through screens instead of being far too large to pass through.
